James Schneider's Obituary
James V. Schneider "Jim" passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, due to complications of Leukemia. Jim was born on April 27, 1948 in Oshkosh to Norman J. and Lorraine M. Schneider. He attended St. Vincent Catholic School and was a graduate of West High School. On December 30, 1967, he married Linda J. Duhm. Jim proudly served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970. He served both in the United States and Thailand. He and Linda have two children: Lori A. Freund (Corey Johnson) and Andrew M. (Jamie L.) Schneider. The very special loves in his life were his six grandchildren, Kailey, Mason and Makenna Freund and Jadon, Lawson and Carly Schneider. Jim worked at Miles Kimball Company as a supervisor for over 42 years. During his younger years, he enjoyed hunting with his brothers, coaching cub scout and 6 1/2 softball and being with the entire Schneider family. Later in life, he enjoyed walking at Wal-Mart, hanging out with his brothers and nephews, shopping and cooking and stopping in to visit with his mom and dad. The most fun he had was teasing the grandkids. He and Linda had a lot of great times traveling with their friends of over 50 years, Gene and Kathy Sauer , they have always been there for us. Jim is survived by his wife Linda, his parents, children and grandchildren, his brothers Steve (Sherrie) and Don (Lisa) Schneider, and sister Sandy (Wally) Cartwright, step mother-in-law, Dawn Duhm, step sisters-in-law, Geri (Eric) Nylund and Mary (Dick) Diederich, he is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, father-in-law, William C. Duhm, mother-in-law, Grace M. Duhm and his sister, Karen Ann Schneider. Thank you to all of the Schneider's for being there, to Father Bill Van De Kreeke and to uncle "Inky" Jungwirth for his love and support. A special heartfelt thank you to doctors Klinkhammer, Gremminger and Zarnosa, and the wonderful nurses who cared so diligently for him on second floor and in the I.C.U. each and every one of you were special "angels" to him and the family. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 4pm to 7pm at the Poklasny Funeral Home 870 W. South Park Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54902. A brief prayer service will be held by Father Bill at 7pm.
