James Schumacher's Obituary
James Peter Schumacher, age 89, of King, WI, formerly of Oshkosh, passed away Monday, September 8, 2008 in the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. On August 12, 1919, he was born in South Milwaukee, the son of Hugo and Hilda (Polster) Schumacher. Jim was employed by the Medalist Industries. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Jim enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing and cards. He also was a sports fan, especially a Brewers and Packer fan. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. On February 18, 1949 he married Betty Jane Malnory in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on July 14, 1995. Survivors include six sons: James, Jr., (Gina) Schumacher of Bloomer, WI, Michael (Sharon) Schumacher of Chetek, WI, Pat Schumacher of Mt. Morris, WI, Paul (Patty) Schumacher of Alpine Lake, WI, Tim Schumacher, Richmond, VA and Dan Schumacher of Wild Rose, WI; two daughters: Peggy Schumacher of Appleton and Sandy (Dan) Protz of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers: Herman (LaVerne) Schumacher of Oshkosh, Tom (Caroline) Schumacher of Milwaukee and Dick (Bev) Schumacher of Oshkosh; four sisters: Mildred Miller of Oshkosh, Janet Dillie of Markesan, Nancy (Harry) Suhr of Crystal Lake, IL, Joanie (Leonard) Viegutz of Milwaukee and a special friend: Ann Fox of Appleton. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Mary Jane Schumacher and Patty Nickel, two brothers-in-law: Lloyd Nickel and Roy Dillie and a granddaughter: Carrie Smith.
