Jay Lawrence Will's Obituary
Jay Lawrence Will, January 22, 1958-February 28, 2026. Jay L. Will passed away peacefully with his loved ones at his side. Jay was born on January 22, 1958 in Oshkosh, WI a son of Arnie Sr. and Monica Will. Jay attended high school at Oshkosh West and was a 1977 graduate. After high school Jay entered the United States Army National Guard and was stationed out of Fort Benning, Georgia. In July of 1985 Jay went to Oshkosh Truck Corp. There he was employed as a welder. Jay was instrumental in the development of the FMTV and JLTV in which he was proud to be a part of. Jay retired in March of 2023. Throughout Jay's life he spent many years as a bass fisherman and was part of the Oshkosh Bass Masters. Jay placed in many tournaments. He loved to golf also and one could always find him on a course. He belonged to many golf leagues throughout Oshkosh. A favorite past time was cruising on his motorcycle and hanging out with friends.
Jay is survived by his partner, Helen W. Keys and their beloved dog Reggie; daughters, Jean (Derrick) Deniger of Wisconsin Dells, Courteney (Dylan) Phelps of Red Granite; surviving siblings are his brother, Arnold Will Jr. of Shreveport, LA, and his sister, Teresa (Alan) Gerrits of Oshkosh. Jay is also survived by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends of whom he shared many good times. Jay was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jacqueline Daker and his beloved Rottweiler, Alex.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh after which full military honors will be accorded by the United Veterans Honor Guard. A time of sharing and visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 am until the time of service. Final resting place will in St. Charles Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
