Jayne Ellen Sample's Obituary
Jayne Ellen Sample was born December 17, 1936 and passed peacefully, in her home, on January 19, 2024. She was 87 years young and doing what she loved, walking on her treadmill.
Jayne grew up in Anderson, Indiana with her parents John and Pauline Cummins Judkins (deceased), her brother David Judkins, and her sister Anne Judkins Martz (deceased). She married Robert Sample (deceased) in 1958 and had two children, William Sample (deceased)(Atsuko Sample) and Susan Sample (Linnie Shipman). She remained in Anderson until 2021 when she moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin with her daughter and son-in-law. She had six grandchildren; Stephanie Begley Miller (Kevin Miller), Aaron Begley, Melanie Begley, Monica Begley, Sophia Sample, and Nikolas Sample. She had three great grandchildren; Adrian Miller, Bode Miller and Callum Miller.
Jayne attended Anderson High School, where she met her husband. She graduated from Ball State University and became a school teacher. She worked for the Anderson school system for 30 years including at Washington School, Lindberg School, Valley Grove and Killbuck.
She was passionate about politics, women’s rights, and learning. She read voraciously and loved to do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed her close friend Sheryl Myers and all her friends from her long time church, Unity Church of Anderson.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2024 in Anderson, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood or the Salvation Arm
