Jean Francis Behnke's Obituary
Jean Francis Behnke, age 96 went to be with her Savior peacefully Sunday, November 11, 2018 surrounded by family. Born to Clifford and Carrie Hawley, She was the eldest of 14 children. As a young girl she asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior and lived her life for Him. She married Robert Behnke at the age of 19. The light of her life was her children; Dennis (Faye) Behnke, grandson Jeff (Jessica) Behnke, great grandsons Emerson and Mason. Daughter Dawn (Daniel) Stadler, granddaughter Shelley (Kory) Anderson, great grandsons; Jesse, Aaron, Jonah and Jakob. Grandson; Travis (Andrea Muench and her children Michael and Grace) Stadler. Great grandsons Noah and Ethan.
Jean was a Prayer Warrior spending an hour in the early mornings praying for her family. One of her joys was in September and October helping to celebrate her two children's 50th Wedding Anniversaries. Jean was a lifetime member of Plymouth Church and taught the 2 and 3 year old Sunday School class for over 50 years. As a home maker, she worked intermitedly at SNC Manufacturing. She was living independently at Simeanna 1 until October and volunteered until June of this year at the Oshkosh Senior Center for Advocap, a job she loved.
She is survived by one brother, Jerry. five sisters-Alice, Janet, Doris, Ruth and Kathryn and special sister-in-law Betty, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, brothers Richard, Donald, Wayne, David and Kenny. Sisters; Carol, Joyce and great granddaughter Chloe Behnke.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 5 pm at Plymouth Church at 1325 Georgia St. Oshkosh, WI 54902. Rev. Rick Hopkins will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 3 pm until the time of service. After the service there will be a meal to follow. Jean's family would like to thank Park View Health Center and Generations Hospice. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Jean's name.
