Jean E. Sitzberger's Obituary
Jean Ellen (Heroux) Sitzberger, age 83, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024. Jean was born in Menasha, Wisconsin to the late Annette and Laurence Heroux. Jeanie attended St. Patrick Catholic Church and School in Menasha, Wisconsin; and graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in Menasha, Wisconsin. She married Ralph Sitzberger of Oshkosh, Wisconsin at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha, Wisconsin on May 5, 1962.
Jeanie worked with her husband, Ralph, at Oshkosh Glass Company in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. When not working at the glass shop, you would find Jeanie volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and School, where she and Ralph were members after marrying. Jeanie loved to golf, garden, spend time on the water boating and kayaking, and ice skating. She also loved to scrapbook, something her family is even more appreciative than ever now. They built and lived in their dream house on Lake Winnebago for more than 30 years, a place they lovingly named “Ein Sommer Platz” after Jeanie’s favorite movie, A Summer Place, which was also Jeanie and Ralphs’ first date. They threw the best picnics and parties. Most Sundays in the summer, you could find the entire family gathered on the dock and in the water.
Jeanie and Ralph spent their retirement years in the Red Pine Cabin as they called it, in Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin; she loved every season in “The North Woods”. She loved being in the middle of all the goings on and was very involved in the Land O’ Lakes Community; including St. Albert Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She was the Deputy Town Clerk for Land O’ Lakes. Her favorite place to be was anywhere her family was gathering. Jeanie was a very special lady to many; and most special wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and now the best Guardian Angel in Heaven.
Jean is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her husband, Ralph J. Sitzberger, and her children: Jana (John) Carrick of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Susie (Robert) Whittaker of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Dan (Desiree) Sitzberger of Corydon, Indiana, and Andrea (Josh) Stenz of Port Washington, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kyle Carrick, Ben Sitzberger, Kevin (Brianna) Carrick, Rachel (Jake) Grose, Abigail (Jarrett) Simonson, Katie (Christian) Goodwin, Tommy (Olivia) Whittaker, Peyton Mueller-Stenz, Ada Mueller-Stenz, Teaghan Mueller-Stenz, Annette Stenz, Joshua Stenz Jr. and great granddaughters: Lily Grose and Sofia Simonson.
