Jeanette "Jay" Ileen Felker's Obituary
Jeanette “Jay” Ileen Felker, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026 at the age of 94. Jay was born in Oshkosh, on March 5th, 1932. She was the youngest daughter of the late Clarence and Minnie (Rice) Phelps. She married Lawrence “Lornie” Felker on June 30, 1951. They celebrated 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. After retiring from the Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) she went on to work as a lunch lady for the Oshkosh Area School District. Having her summers off gave her the opportunity to travel with her son and his family. It was always an adventure with her. A few of her favorite destinations were the Wisconsin Dells, the “Northwoods' of Wisconsin and Fort Myers Beach in Florida. When she wasn't traveling, you could find her out in the yard for she was always working on her beautiful flower garden.
Jay is survived by her son, William (Wanda) Felker; two grandsons, Stephan (Donna) Felker and Gregory (Michelle) Felker; as well as a bonus granddaughter, Alyx Peterson; three great-grandchildren, Hoyt, Hazel and Angelica. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and her loving husband; along with her beloved cats, Suzie and Sally.
Funeral services for Jay will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 11 am in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh with the Rev. Annette Wolf officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bethel Home for their care over the last few years.
