Jeffrey H. "Wally" Walter's Obituary
Jeffrey H. "Wally" Walter, age 73, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. He was born on June 8, 1952 in Oshkosh a son of the late Harry J. and Ruth C. (Schertz) Walter. Wally proudly served his country in the US Army. He had worked for 25 years at the Square D Company until it closed and then worked for and retired from Aurora Medical Center until retirement. Hobbies he enjoyed over the years were that of hunting and fishing and camping with his family.
He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by two sons, Jeremy Walter and Jarmen (Tracy) Walter, both of Oshkosh; a daughter, Janyne (Matthew) Erickson also of Oshkosh; a brother, Harry Walter of Madison; four sisters, Carol Horejs and Mary (John) Tyler, both of Oshkosh, Beverly Schink of Kaukauna and Cathy (Chuck) Hinze of Watertown; nine grandchildren, Alexis Vogelin, Logan Walter, Nolan Walter, Avah Walter, Jackson Walter, Jarmen Walter, Gabriel Walter, Lucas Erickson and Natalee Erickson. He is further survived by a great grandson, Briggs Walter, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, David (Judy) Kiesow; brother-in-laws, David Horejs and Steven Schink; a brother, Gary Walter and a daughter in law, Jessica Walter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Wally on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11 am in St. Raphael Catholic Church , 830 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh with the Rev. Tom Long as celebrant. Full military honors will follow the mass. A time of visitation sill be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of mass. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery Oshkosh.
