Jeffrey T. LeRoy's Obituary
Jeff was born in Oshkosh, WI to Joseph and Shirley (Stannard) LeRoy on September 12, 1951. He passed away on June 6, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, who shared memories and prayed over him. Jeff grew up in a joyful, close-knit family with his sister, Cheryl, and brothers, Joe and Jim. Their mother encouraged creativity, laughter, and dancing, often joining right in. Their father instilled a strong work ethic and taught the boys to hunt. Sundays were spent at their grandparents’ home, swimming in Lake Winnebago, hiking to the “Pretty Place,” and sharing meals with cousins who became lifelong friends. That Sunday tradition continued for decades at their parents’ home, weaving a family bond that remained unbreakable. Jeff attended Oshkosh High School and UW–Oshkosh before enlisting in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he proudly served as a Drill Sergeant. He later moved to Arizona, where he met and married Audrie Heires in 1982. Together they raised three children, Joseph, Hadley, and Riley. Jeff’s career in Sales and Marketing with Tenneco Inc. took the family to several states, including Arizona, California, Ohio, Tennessee, Illinois, and Wisconsin. No matter where they lived, Jeff brought joy with him. When visiting Oshkosh, his nieces and nephews were only too delighted to join his playful “parades,” dancing through the living room to songs like “The Lollipop Brigade.” Jeff was known for his quick wit, warm humor, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He enjoyed watercolor painting, hunting, playing cards, cooking, and sharing meals with others. A talented and adventurous chef, he was always trying new recipes and thoroughly enjoyed sharing with the people he cared about. Despite facing significant health challenges over many years, Jeff remained a source of strength and encouragement to others navigating cancer and heart disease. He fought courageously until the early morning of June 6, when cancer and cardiac arrest took his earthly life; but Jesus gave him eternal life.
He is survived by his children, Joseph (Lindsay), Hadley (Titus) Wilson, and Riley (Megan, fiancé); grandchildren: Jameson, Julian, and Jackson LeRoy; and Lilly and Wyatt Wilson; sister, Cheryl Michler and brothers, Joe (Joan) LeRoy, and Jim (Donna) LeRoy. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Paul Michler. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the teams at Aurora Hospital in Oshkosh and St. Luke’s in Milwaukee for their compassionate care during Jeff’s final days.
Visitation will be held at Fiss & Bills Poklasny Funeral Home on Westhaven Drive on Saturday, June 20 from 9:00–11:00 a.m., with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Oshkosh Community Foundation in Jeff’s memory.
