Mark:
I'm so extremely sorry for your loss. Having had the opportunity to meet and get to know Jerry and Donna for several years now, what wonderful parents you had. I recall the many conversations he and I had over the years with a top priority of his, loving his sons and his Donna. They both loved you so much and wanted nothing but the best for you. As the remembrance here states, his race here may be complete but just rejoice in the fact that he is now in his Heavenly Home and once again reunited with your mom, Donna. I also think back to the fact of how his love, compassion, and care was in taking care of her during her final years. If there were nothing else about a man, that alone by itself proves just what an amazing man he was. I never recall Jerry having one negative thought, in fact I can only recall his positive attitude, his love & zest for life, his love of racing, helping others, and just being the special man, he was. I'll end by saying again to you and your siblings how sorry I am for your loss. Whenever you feel the emptiness, sadness and weight of this loss, lean in and cherish all those precious memories of your dad, passing on all of that love and compassion he taught you, and thank our Lord and Savior for having had on this earth such a father, mentor, friend, and teacher.
God Bless you, my friend.
