JERRY ZICK's Obituary
Gerald K “Jerry” Zick, age 71, of Oshkosh, died Friday August 1, 2014 at his home after a eighteen month courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Oshkosh on March 9, 1943 the the son of Wesley and Dorothy Spaltholz Zick. Jerry married Marjorie Walter on February 15, 1969 in St Peter Catholic Church in Oshkosh. He was employed for thirty-five years at Duo-Safety Ladder in Oshkosh. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Sacred Heart, St Vincent Dartball League, and the Sacred Heart Golf League. Jerry valued family life, and had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife; Marjie Zick, of Oshkosh, two daughters; Steph (Rod) Schultz, Oshkosh, Jen (Joel) Wojciechowski, Oshkosh, his Mother Dorothy Zick, Oshkosh, four grandchildren; Malory, Alissa Schultz, Levi, Milo Wojciechowski, two brothers; Darryl (Lyda) Zick, Atlanta GA., Alan (Terri) Zick, Virginia, one sister; Karen (Bill) Koch, Oshkosh, in-laws; Tom, Randy, Irene, Steve, and Kris. Jerry is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, with a special shout out to Le Roy’s, Jerry’s, The Roxy, and Ratch and Deb’s.
Jerry was preceded in death by an infant son; Craig G Zick, and his father; Wesley Zick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 9, at 11:00 AM in St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (Sacred Heart site) with the Rev Douglas Le Captain officiating. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Park with full military honors. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
