Joachim DeLeeuw's Obituary
Joachim DeLeeuw, age 63, of Oshkosh passed away on Wednesday morning April 18, 2012 at Bella Vista in Oshkosh. He was born in Kimberly, WI on September 26, 1948 the son of Christian and Marie (Fiers) DeLeeuw. He married Rose Derks on September 8, 1969. He was a faithful member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Joachim is survived by his son: Andrew James (Crystal Matuszewski) DeLeeuw and his daughter: Jennifer Ann (Brad) Lloyd both of Oshkosh. Three brothers: R.C. DeLeeuw of Menasha, Keith (Mary Ann) DeLeeuw of Kaukauna and Jan DeLeeuw of Kimberly. Three grandchildren: Victoria, Joshua and Lilly Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Rose. Joachim was a 5th Grade Religion teacher with Rose for several years, Volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul, St. Josaphat's Catholic Church, big brothers and big sisters. He was a summer youth soccer coach. He worked as a Jewel T Salesman, then at SMC Manufacturing and then at N&M Transfer. He loved his Peanut butter sandwiches. His hobbies were bowling with wife, riding his goldwing motorcycle, wood working, involved with Indian princesses and Indian Guides with his children. Memorial services will be held on Monday April 23, 2012 at 11am at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home @865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Father Matt Simonar will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 9am until the time of service. Private committal services will be held. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Joachim's name. Joachim's family would like to Thank the entire staff at Bella Vista and the entire Generations Hospice staff especially Kim for the wonderful compassionate care that was given to their father. Also a special thank you to Joachim's best friend: Jim Grunloh for being such a great friend throughout the years and Jim's wife for baking all those pies.
