Joan Plummer's Obituary
Joan Mary Plummer, 83, of Oshkosh, passed away at home on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012. She was born on Feb 2, 1929 the daughter of Paul and Gladys (Reese) Friedel. She married Jack Plummer on October 23, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1992.
Joan graduated from Oshkosh High School and attended Oshkosh State Teachers College. She was employed at Wisconsin Telephone Company. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Oshkosh. Joan enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Jane (Fabian) Koebke of Oshkosh, Susan (Herb) Schaick of Omro, Paula (Dean) Sosnoski of Appleton, Julie (Jim) Wendt of Neenah and a son William (Betsy) Plummer of Green Bay. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Shelley (Todd) Oxenreider, Brad (Nyla) Quinn, Christopher (Elizabeth) Schaick, Cara (Jaymes) Schmidt, Troy (Dave) Thielen, Adam (Jenny Miller) Sosnoski, Matt Ubowski, Mimi Plummer, Andy Plummer and Molly Plummer. She is further survived by 10 great grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Payden, Lathum, Susanna, Rose, Stella, Waylon, Logan and Landen. She is also survived by a brother-in-law William (Lucy) Plummer, a sister-in-law Jean Friedel and many close relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Plummer, her daughter Kay Bodway, her brother Paul Friedel, Jr and sister-in-law Shirley Plummer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday April 13, 2012 at 4pm at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home @865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 2pm until the time of service. Private family committal services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Joan's name.
Joan's family would like to thank her special caregiver Shirley, Dr. Eric Duwell and the staff at Aurora Hospital and the City of Oshkosh paramedics for their compassionate care given to Joan.
