Joan E. Redlin's Obituary
Joan Elizabeth Redlin (Griedl), age 65, passed away peacefully at her home on February 7, 2013 after a 2 year battle with ALS. Joan was born on November 15, 1947 in Oshkosh to Frank and Martha Griedl. She attended and graduated from Oshkosh High School. She went on to marry Peter Redlin on March 10, 1973. Joan had multiple jobs throughout her life. She worked at Hoffmaster for several years, was a cleaning lady at Citizens First Credit Union, an in home babysitter where she treated the children she watched like her own and was a grocery bagger at Pick-n-Save for close to 10 years up until she retired in 2011. Her most favorite job of all was taking care of her own children and grandchildren. Some of her hobbies included line dancing, shooting trap, fishing, attending her childrens and grandchildrens activities, but most of all she loved gambling and boy was she lucky. Joan was also a member of Springbrook Sportsmans Club, Berlin Conservation Club, Ducks Unlimited.
Among her survivors include her loving and devoted husband of almost 40 years, Pete, her sons, Guy (Kim) Redlin, Jason (Reynette) Redlin and her daughter, Wendy (Dan) Buehring. Her proudest moments were when she welcomed her grandchildren Ben Buehring, Grayson Redlin, Alicia Behrent and her great grandchild, Emily Sardena into her life. Joan is also survived by her sisters, Audrey Egli, Eleanor (Ralph) Pischke, Donna (Jim) Kloehn, Maggie (John) Haertl, Mary (Randy) VanLinn and her brother, Jerry (Jane) Griedl. Also surviving are Pete's family, Ray (Helene) Redlin, Stan (Linda) Redlin, Sally (Mark) Sanders, Sue Koon, Donna (Bill) Kies. Her special sisters, Sally Winkler, Linda Hollnagel, Jean Fritz and Marge Gumz. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Martha Griedl; mother-in-law, Denise Redlin and Lawrence and Theresa Putzer.
Funeral services for Joan will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. The Reverend Timothy Greenwald of First English Lutheran Church will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the funeral home for the Redlin family on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett.
