Cathy Macarthur
We have known Joanne since 1972. She was so smart and knowledgeable about many things, yet had a wonderful sense of humor. In the old days when we were young she organized the “Pear Tree Volleyball Association.” None of us were athletic and we paid no attention to rules, but did we have fun! We played in the Kosanke’s backyard with a pear tree as the backdrop.Lots of laughter and wonderful camaraderie in an evening that ended with a couple of pitchers of beer.
We kept in touch as she moved to Minnesota, then later to Ohio and back again to this area. She was good at keeping in touch with her many friends all over the country. She would talk interestingly about books and world affairs and she had very strong opinions and did not suffer fools gladly, so one felt honored to be her friend.
Dan and I extend our sympathy to Andrea, Mary Ellen and Chris and extended family as well as to her many friends.
