John Kevin Barikmo's Obituary
John K Barikmo, age 63, of Winneconne, passed away on Thursday September 1, 2022 at Thedacare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. John was born in Milwaukee WI. on February 16, 1959 the son of Ken and Wanetta Griffey Barikmo. He married Tami Edwardsen in S. Milwaukee WI., on September 15, 1990. John was the owner/operator of Wolf River Services in Winneconne.
John’s love for the great outdoors took him hunting, fishing, and on safari in South Africa. He could often be found at his cabin where he enjoyed deer hunting and trout fishing with his family and friends. His love for sports included being an avid Packer fan, a longtime member of the Par-Tee golf league with his wife, and playing pickleball with his friends. He will be remembered as a talented chef, an exceptional handyman, and someone who was always quick with a joke.
John is survived by his wife; Tami Barikmo, of Winneconne, one son; Nick Barikmo, Minneapolis MN., his mother; Wanetta Barikmo, West Bend WI., three brothers; Larry (Lori) Barikmo, Stevens Point WI., Mike (Sharon) Barikmo, Cedarburg WI., Kurt Barikmo, Milwaukee WI., his mother-in-law; Ruth Edwardsen, Oshkosh, and sisters-in-law; Nicki Wingate, Johannesburg South Africa., Kori Barikmo, Brookfield WI., Linda Barikmo, Wauwatosa WI. John is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; Ken Barikmo, one sister; Kim Barikmo, his father-in-law; Whitey Edwardsen, and one brother-in-law; Jay Wingate.
A memorial service for John will be held on Thursday September 8, at 3:00 PM in Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S Westhaven Oshkosh) with the Rev. Kevin Heffernan officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the hour of services. John’s family will privately scatter his cremains at a later date.
