John Rawlsky's Obituary
John D. Rawlsky, age 80, of Oshkosh, formerly of Oxford, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday evening, January 12, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born on December 21, 1928 in Appleton a son of the late Antone and Caroline (Moser) Rawlsky. On August 26, 1950 he married the former Doris Dominiczak in Pulaski. He spent much of his time with family and friends and had a wonderful sense of humor. John loved to laugh. He had a genuine love for the outdoors which included hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed big band and polka music and was an accomplished musician with a beautiful singing voice. He was a third and fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. John's memory will be cherished by his wife, Doris and their seven children, Barb (Doug) Willett of New Hampshire, Gerry (Scott) Schubert of Wautoma, Jeannene (Doug) Feinsod of California, John F. (Kathie) Rawlsky of Middleton, Carol (Keith) Feldman of Idaho, Mary (Rand) Wichman of Idaho and Janice (Wayne Hirsch) Rawlsky of Montello. Six grandchildren, Bob Uehelher, Matt Schubert, Jess and Meri Willett, and Nate Rawlsky. He is further survived by a brother, Clarence, a step-brother, Ervin Oskey. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Alice and Bernice and a grandson, Brad Uebelher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for John on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrement Parish, (St. Peter's Church), 435 High Avenue in Oshkosh with the Reverend Fr. Jim Jugenheimer and Reverend Fr. Camir Kutiuk con-celebrating. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Oshkosh. A time of visitation and support for the Rawlsky family will be held on Saturday at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. A memorial fund will be established. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference."
