JOHN CLIFFORD TROIBER's Obituary
John Troiber, 91, formerly of Oshkosh, passed away Friday morning January 5, 2018 at the Rosemore Village Retirement Community in Wild Rose. He was born in Oshkosh on August 1st, 1926 to the late John, and Mary Schettle Troiber.
John served his country in the U.S.Navy during WW II from 1943-1946 and the Korean War from 1951-1954.
He married Jeanette Y Benke on August 31, 1946 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh.
John retired from the Soo Line Railroad in 1986. In 1970 John and Jeanette moved to Wild Rose and spent their days enjoying country living, gardening, and deer hunting.
Due to poor health John and Jeanette moved to the Rosemore Village Retirement Community in Wild Rose in 2015.
He loved hunting, gardening, and spending his time out of doors. He was a very loving, kind, and generous man to his family and to the many friends he made at Rosemore.
John is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jeanette Troiber, Wild Rose. Daughter, Donna Marie (Gary J) Youngwirth. Two grandchildren, Kristin (Curt) Flannery and John (Jessie) Youngwirth. And three great-grandchildren, Heather and Valya Flannery and Jack Youngwirth.
He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Troiber and two sisters, Dorothy Stadler, and Elsie Fasel.
A private funeral service with full military honors was held for the immediate family on
Tuesday January 9th at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel Oshkosh, with the Rev. Matt Simonar officiating.
