I enjoyed working with Joe at Gabriel's Villa. He was tough and warm and funny. He was a fighter to the end. He is missed.
You are in my prayers.
Sincerely,

Dear Cheryl, Joe, Jeff, and Jim,
Yesterday afternoon I was playing a game of euchre on my computer, and I cannot play that game without thinking of your dad. As I played, I thought of a conversation I had a couple of weeks ago with Dan Wolf. He mentioned that sometimes he and Jeff would play some three-handed sheephead with Joe. I suddenly got this great idea: the next time I was in Oshkosh, I would see if Joe would like to play a few hands of euchre! I thought it would be fun for him and bring back a lot of good memories. Both my parents are gone now, and I'm more aware than ever of the importance of honoring seniors, especially those who served and saved our country.
My wife came home a little later and checked the phone messages. My brother had called to tell me of your dad's passing. Some people would say my thinking of Joe yesterday was just a coincidence. I do not believe it was just a coincidence.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers,
Eric
