June Margarie Poklasny's Obituary
June M. Poklasny, age 89, of Oshkosh, passed away Sunday January 30, 2022 at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh. She was born Fond du Lac WI., on June 14, 1932 the daughter of the late John and Hazel Hintz Coulahan. June graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1950, Oshkosh State Teachers College, in 1954 with a degree in Education, and later went back to college earning a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology. She met Joseph Poklasny in 1954 while in college in Oshkosh, and they married on July 30, 1955 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Joe preceded her in death on June 17, 2013. She was employed at Sacred Heart School in Oshkosh as a substitute teacher, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, as a chemistry professor, and until the time of her retirement June was employed by Kimberly Clark in its research and development department.
June is survived by two sons; Joe (Mary) Poklasny, of Oshkosh, WI., Jim (Carol) Poklasny, Oshkosh, WI., two daughters; Patty Poklasny, Oshkosh, WI., Mary (Joe) Klang, Milwaukee, WI., four grandchildren; Andrew (Samantha Jensen) Poklasny, Sherwood WI., Maggie (Andy) Hanneman, Oshkosh, WI., Alex (Caley) Leinweber, Oshkosh, WI., Nick (Sarah Manthey) Leinweber, Oshkosh, WI., three great-grandchildren; Cecelia and Zander Leinweber, Callen Hanneman, two sisters; Mary (Tom) Shilling, Neenah, WI., Noreen (Bob) Van Price, Fond du Lac, WI., and one brother; Dennis (Jannette) Coulahan, Fond du Lac WI. June is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
June was preceded in death by two sisters; Janice Johnson, Kathy Christie, and one brother; Jack Coulahan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 5, at 11:00 AM in St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (Sacred Heart site) with the Rev Louis Golamari officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Poklasny Funeral Home (870 W South Park Ave) on Friday February 4, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 PM and also at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
