June R. Vogds' Obituary
June R. Vogds, age 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday morning, October 5, 2018, at Bethel Home, where she had been residing since July of 2017. June was born June 21, 1922 in Oshkosh, the daughter of John and Rose Heinzel. She married Joseph Vogds on May 20, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh.
June was a meticulous housekeeper. Everything in her home was spotless. She loved baking and cooking for her family. Her chocolate chip cookies and apple pies were the BEST! In her younger years, she loved to go shopping. The Fox River Mall and Younkers were her favorites! She certainly could “Shop Till You Drop!”
Survivors include her son, Gary (Darlene) Vogds of El-Dorado Hills, CA, 2 daughters, Kristine (Jim) Berger of Oshkosh, WI, and Debra (Jack) Reichenberger of Oshkosh, WI. 2 grandchildren, Lisa Bednarz of Milwaukee, WI, and Jason Berger of Oshkosh, WI, and 1 great-grandchild, Rebecca Bednarz of Milwaukee, WI.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her parents, 1 brother, Gib Heinzel and his wife “Gerri”, 1 brother-in-law, Ambrose Vogds and wife Jean of Fond du Lac, and 2 sister-in-laws, Catherine Steele and her husband George of Ripon, and Dolores “Dee” Dooley of Fond du Lac.
June’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Bethel Home 2 West for the loving, compassionate care June received while she was a resident. She made so many friends and loved everyone.
June’s family also would like to thank Debbie Wegner of The Hair Connection, for doing Mom’s hair for the last 40 years! Mom always said “No one is cutting my hair except Debbie Wegner.”
We also can’t forget the Shadow Creek Apartment ladies who were Mom’s best friends; Dolly, Shirley, Nancy, and Sally. You all helped Mom so much before she had to go to Bethel Home. She loved all of you.
Per June’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Oshkosh.
“May She Rest In Peace.”
