KATHLEEN STECKBAUER's Obituary
Kathleen Steckbauer, age 93, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday Morning, November 4, 2014 at her home. She was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on October 15, 1921 the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel Dolan Stoughton. Kathleen graduated from Cavalier High School in Cavalier, ND., and later graduated from the College of Scholastica in Duluth MN., in Dietetics. She served her internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati OH, then worked at Mercy Medical Center, as a Dietician, and also at Bethel Home as a Dietician Consultant for eighteen years. Kathleen married Eugene Steckbauer, on April 6, 1948 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2003. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and many of its affiliated organizations.
Kathleen is survived by one daughter; Carol (special friend Jim Hofmann) Schuenke, of Oshkosh, two sons; Thomas (Judy) Steckbauer, of Oshkosh, James Steckbauer, Oshkosh three grandchildren; Lexie Schuenke, Bailey Steckbauer, Sam Steckbauer, all of Oshkosh, and one sister; Mary (Thomas) Ziegler, IL. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister; Laureen, and one brother; Douglas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 7, at 11:00 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. William van De Kreeke officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
