Kathleen L. Teclaw's Obituary
Kathleen Teclaw, age 92, was born to eternal life on March 23, 2016.
She spent the first eighteen years of her life on a small family farm just north of Thorp, WI. After high school graduation, she moved to Wausau where she worked at Marathon Rubber Co. making rain suits for the military during World War II. After the war, she secured a position as a seamstress at Singer Sewing Co. until she married Alois (Al) Teclaw in June 1947. They moved to Oshkosh where they started and successfully operated Dixie Cream Donut Shop until their retirement in 1987.
Kathy led a full life with many interests and was a talented seamstress and cook. As a seamstress, she had remarkable skill to design and create wedding gowns, theatrical costumes, coats, suits, and other women’s clothing. Her creative nature led to hat making, fur coat remodeling, upholstery, drapery, ceramics, and cake decorating.
She enjoyed music, singing, and dancing polkas. She especially loved to dance the waltz with her husband Al at their local dance club events and family celebrations.
Her life revolved around family and church and her grandchildren were a very special blessing. She will be fondly remembered as a strong and determined woman with a loving and tender heart.
She is survived by her loving husband Al of 68 years; daughters, Carol (Jerry) Morris, Chris (Bill) Boelter, and Julie Teclaw (Tom Verkuilen); two sons, Ron (Sue) Teclaw and Dennis Teclaw; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Agnes Jarosz and Betty Ann Munden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary Neiman; brothers, Leon Neiman, Ed Neiman, and Stan Neiman; and sisters, Fran Moczarny, Margie Wald, and Mary Lou Neiman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 16, 2016 at 11:00 at St. Josephat's Catholic Church, Oshkosh. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 AM until time of Mass.
The family extends its gratitude to her nephrologist Dr. Francisco Zornosa, Affinity Hospice caregivers, and the gracious staff at Island Shores.
