Kathleen Ulvenes' Obituary
Kathleen Alyce Ulvenes
Kathy Ulvenes, age 69, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully, in her home, surrounded by her family on March 14th, 2012. She was born Carolyn Alyce Puhl on November 11th, 1942, in Milwaukee, to Millie and Kenneth Puhl. She was then baptized in the name of the Lord, as Kathleen Alyce. As a child she has fond memories of her grandparents Archie and Blanche Clark, playing the cello and piano, and was an award winning speed skater. On August 12th of 1972 she married the love of her life, Raymond K. Ulvenes, and then welcomed their daughter, Jennifer Ann in the spring of the following year. Kathy and Ray owned and ran a TV sales and service business early in their marriage and later she worked for Square D and GE Medical. She retired early due to health concerns and struggled with health issues for most of her adult life. Through many setbacks in her health she remained positive, courageous and strong in her faith. Kathy and Ray are long time and active members of St. Raphael?s Church of Oshkosh. Kathy enjoyed participating in Renew Group and activities with the Knights of Columbus, alongside her husband who is a 4th degree member. She also enjoyed her many friendships through life, from those at Tishigan Lake to the Red Hat and Mad Hatters Clubs, laughing and fully enjoying life. Some of her many interests were horseback riding, bowling, sewing, reading and drawing. She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband Raymond, her loving daughter Jennifer (Ron) Skubal and two wonderful step ?daughters Lisa (Steve) Duca and Linda (Patrick) Stewart. She was also the proud grandmother to nine grandchildren including, Caitlin Rae and Michaeleen Grace Gelhar, Amanda (Nick Preisler) and Alex Duca, Sophia, Nicolas and Noah Samadian, and Noah and Hannah Skubal, further survived by siblings Monte (Colleen) Tobin, Greg (Connie) Tobin, Mick (Joann) Tobin and Jean Tobin. Kathy also touched deeply many other family members and friends in her life. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, her dear brother, Dick Hinkley and beloved sister Connie Motz. The family would like to thank the Aurora Dialysis Center and Heartland Hospice for their dedication and care.
Being proud of her Irish heritage it is quite fitting to celebrate her life this Saturday, March 17th, at St. Raphael?s Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until mass at noon, followed by a luncheon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 17, in St. Raphael's Catholic Church (830 S. Westhaven) at 12noon with the Rev. Doug Le Captain officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
