Kenneth O. Girens' Obituary
Kenneth Owen Girens, age 84, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center. Kenny (as he was called) was born on July 3, 1938, at home to Victor and Hildegarde (Heimerman) Girens. He was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh.
Kenny is survived by his sisters Mary Jane Bates and Susan Cornell, and brother Victor(Audrey) Girens. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother in laws Daniel Bates and Robert Cornell.
Kenny honorably served his country as a member of the Army. He served for over 10 years and was stationed in Germany and Korea. Upon returning home to Oshkosh, Kenny was employed at Buckstaff Corporation until his retirement. Kenny was an avid stock car racing enthusiast who traveled anywhere and everywhere for a good race. His favorite driver was the one and only Dick Trickle. Kenny was also proud of his military service and was a member of the American Legion.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh at 1 p.m. Kenny’s family will greet visitors beginning at noon until the time of service.
