Kenneth "Potsie" Joy's Obituary
Kenneth B. Joy “Potsie”, age 82, of Oshkosh passed away on Saturday evening July 19, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born in Milwaukee on July 22, 1942 the son of the late Kenneth and Ruby (Lee) Joy. He went to school at Palmer grade school, Lincoln and North Division high school and graduated in 1959 lettering in football. He served his Country in the US Navy from 1960 to 1964 Corpsman by choice, he spoke about helping Soldiers and serving with the Marines during the Vietnam era, including ports of France, Italy and finally at Camp Lejeune, NC. He always wore his Military hats and T-shirts proudly. He was an avid reader of Military history and wartime books and also Sci-Fi. He worked for Team Electronics and two trucking firms, TOPS and C.Y. trucking. During his retirement up north in Marinette County, town of Wagner he worked for the Public works on road repair, dump site and hauling recycling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching wildlife, shooting red squirrels, he always said One shot got 2 squirrels, not with his eye sight. You could always find him in November deer hunting with the great guys he considered brothers, Ronny, Jerry, Al, Butchie and Jimmy. As many would say Potsie his nickname from his father always had a story you would dare to believe, as the years passed they got wilder. His #1 greatest love was all the people in his life and #2 Cheesecake. He never “Did Not Help Anyone” even if he had to go without. He spent his final years in Milwaukee VA Hospital, Connie Homes LLC in Oshkosh then his final days at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh
He is survived by many neighbors he considered family, Kevin (Jackie) Lynch and their family. Phil (Maureen) Jones and their family and was thrilled when both Jed and Jeremy went into the Navy. Wally (Joan) Johnson and also German John Wedig.

Special Thank you to Connie Homes, LLC, Aurora Hospice, Aurora Hospital staff. He will be missed terribly by Jim (Lynn) Hickey his Guardians, very close friends during all of his final adventures.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 6 pm at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Father Louis Golamari will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 pm until 6 pm. Private committal services will be held at Riverside Cemetery Veterans Section.
