Kenneth "K.K." Koplitz's Obituary
Kenneth Karl Koplitz passed away on December 29, 2020 at Bella Vista Senior Care in Oshkosh, WI with family present.
Ken was born in Oshkosh, WI on August 4th, 1931 to Eldor and Esther (Diestler) Koplitz. Ken graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1949 and worked in dairy farming after high school. He also worked for 20 years at Oshkosh Truck until his retirement.
Ken married Joan (Knapwurst) on September 29th, 1956 at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, officiated by Reverend E.A. Koch.
They have three sons, Rick (Jane), Jim (Patty) and Kevin (Jody) Koplitz. They have 9 grandchildren, Erin (Marcus), Steven (Cindy), Kyle (Jodi), Joe, Andrea (Carlos), Danny (Savannah), Kamron (Amber), Connor (Heather) and Quint as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Ken played baseball for Zion in the Winnebago Land League with his brothers for about 15 years. He was voted MVP several of those years. He started bowling at the age of 15 with his dad at the Raulf Hotel and continued bowling for the 45 years at T&O Lanes in Oshkosh. Ken and Joan bowled in a mixed league at T&O with Joan and John Brady. Ken loved playing cards of all kinds and was in a cribbage league with Wayne Alexander, hunting at the Zillges camp and fishing in Minnesota and Canada and all the area lakes. He was a member of the Four Lakes Fishing Club. He was a current and charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and on the Board of Directors for Ellenwood Cemetery.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers Marvin, Howard and Larry, his sister-in-law Dorothy Koplitz and Norma Dahl, brother-in-law John Dahl and dear friend John Brady.
He is survived by his sister Shirley Treleven and Brother-in-law Dave Treleven (Omro), Sisters-in-laws Karen Koplitz and Carol Koplitz (Oshkosh) and dear family friend Joan Brady also of Oshkosh, as well as many other nieces and nephews and long-time friends.
A special thank you to Ascension Hospice workers, Jenny, Ashley, Stacey, Amy Lori and the second-floor aids from Bella Vista.
Due to Covid-19, a private funeral will be held and a celebration will be held at a later date.
