Kimberly Anne Hassman's Obituary
Kimberly Anne Hassman, age 47, of Omro, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, June 3, 2024. She was born on May 14, 1977 in Menomonee Falls, WI a daughter of Gary L. and Patricia (Vold) Merkl. Kim married David Michael Hassman on June 9, 2001. She attended and graduated from the University of Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Arts degree and worked at HB Patch Elementary School in Omro. Kim was an avid volunteer with her church family at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Oshkosh. She greatly enjoyed art and music but most of all time spent with her children and fur babies.
Kimberly is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her husband of 23 years, David “Dave” Hassman; two daughters and a son, Faith, Paige and Gavin all at home in Omro; her parents, Patricia Merkl of Hartford and her father, Gary Merkl of Slinger; a sister, Melinda (Chad) Diels of Hartford and a brother, Christopher Merkl of Waukesha. She is further survived by her father-in-law, Eugene Hassman; brothers-in-law, Don Hassman, Mark (Keli) Hassman, Jeff (Carole) Hassman, Doug Hassman and Mike (Margaret) Hassman; several special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends and lifelong friend Heather (Ken) Koenig. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Ann Hassman; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Vold; aunt, Gail Kegel and paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Lydia Merkl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Kimberly on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 12 noon in St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh with the Rev. Tom Long as celebrant. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of mass. Burial will be in Omro Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions, a number of memorials will be established in her name.
