Larry Tyson's Obituary
Larry G. Tyson, age 65 of Oshkosh, passed away Saturday January 10, 2009 in Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. On November 7, 1943 he was born in Oshkosh, the son of Earl and Mary Lichtenwald Tyson Butts Larry worked for Bemis for 20 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. A sports fan, he loved to watch the Packers and the Brewers and he enjoyed fishing. On March 12, 1966 he married Beverly Schlichting in Oshkosh. She survives along with his three children: Gary, Kurt and Carrie; his brother: Dennis (Sandy) Tyson all of Oshkosh and his feline companions: "LaVerne" and "Shirley." He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father: Frank Butts and a sister: Shirley Jeske.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2009, in the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr., with Rev. Carl Knitt officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memoral Park. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lake, the nursing taff at Aurora Medical Center, the staff in the Dialysis Unit at Aurora and the Veterans Administration for all the care they gave Larry.
