Laurie Anne Brito's Obituary
Laurie Brito (Prev. Much/Milligan), 60, of Oshkosh, WI passed into heaven on Saturday evening, August 4, 2018 with her family by her side.
Laurie was born on September 28, 1957 to Eugene L. Much and Bonne E. (Mahr) Marshek. Laurie loved horses from an early age, and had a dream to build her own horse farm. As she built her horse farm, she also built a loving family and a 38-year career at Kimberly Clark. Laurie enjoyed spending time on her farm, time with family and friends, day-trips with her husband Cesar, and listening to music. Laurie was comical woman, who always said, “What’s life if you can’t have a good laugh?” She was also fast to pitch in and help others in times of need.
After being diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in the fall of 2016, Laurie put up a hard fight to the very end and never complained. Instead, she took any opportunity she could to help and encourage her loved ones, as well as make them laugh. She remained strong and positive throughout the entire battle.
Laurie is survived by her loving husband, Cesar Brito; her two daughters, Crystal (Micholic) Cardell and Valerie (Sadowski) Scofield; her stepchildren, Tory (Brito) Soto, Leah (Brito) Thomas, and Christopher Brito; her parents, Eugene Much and Bonnie (Mahr) Marshek; her brother, Ricki Much; her grandchildren, Starlight Cardell, Samantha Scofield, and Ryan Jr. Scofield; her step-grandchildren, Trace Brito, Connor Thomas, and Michael Brito; and her beloved pets, Nickers and Della.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home located at 865 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until the hour of service.
Laurie’s family would like to thank Dr. Karen Gremminger and her staff at the ThedaCare Cancer Center in Oshkosh, WI and the staff at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI for all that they did to assist in her care following her cancer diagnosis. They would also like to thank Laurie’s close friends for all that they did during her last days to make her laugh and smile.
In honor of Laurie’s last wish to “make a difference in people’s lives”, donations to the Kids Wish Network will be accepted in her memory. The Kids Wish Network helps to make dreams come true for children diagnosed with cancer.
