Lawrence "Larry" Jungwirth's Obituary
Lawrence J. "Larry" Jungwirth, age 81 went home to meet his heavenly father June 15, 2013. He battled leukemia for 3 years. He was born in Oshkosh, April 7, 1932, the oldest of Frank and Irene (Knipp) Jungwirth. Larry lost his mother when he was 15 months old. He was brought up as a child by his grandparents. He is looking forward to re-uniting with his mother in their heavenly home. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Japan from October 1952 to October 1954. He married Elaine Endrick in 1953. She was the mother of his 3 children. They later divorced. He managed Piggly Wiggly in Oshkosh for many years. Later he worked for Best Foods as a salesman, traveling throughout the State and upper Michigan. He retired in 1994. He married Jean Nolan in 1993 she preceded him in death in 2003. On September 8, 2007 he married Lillian Miller Clochesy, who survives him. They have enjoyed many gatherings and weddings with both families. Larry enjoyed traveling, activities with numerous friends in Florida and going to the 2011 Super Bowl. Larry was a huge Packer fan having season tickets for 57 years. He attended all home games until his health failed. He was an avid hunter in his younger years, he also loved to fly fish. Larry loved the outdoors, spending 60 years at his cottage in Boulder Lake and 20 winters in Leesburg, FL. He loved and enjoyed nature, the trees, flowers, water, fishing, wild life, especially all species of birds. Survivors include his loving wife, Lill, sons James (Paula) Jungwirth, Joey (Michele) Jungwirth both of Oshkosh. Daughter Lynette (Rick) Driggers of Benbrook, TX. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 sisters Barbara (Dave) Krause of Oshkosh, Joan (Roger) Warner of St. Paul, MN and Mary Patnode of Oshkosh. 2 brothers Tom (Diane) Jungwirth of Oshkosh and Greg (Renate) Jungwirth of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruthie Mueller and his wife Jean. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 22, 2013 at 11am at St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church at 1225 Oregon St. Oshkosh, WI 54902) Father Matt Simonar will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9am until the time of Mass. Graveside military rites will follow the Mass at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh. Larry will be greatly missed by his loving wife, all of his family and many dear friends in Oshkosh, at Boulder Lake and Leesburg, FL. Larry's children would like to thank Lill for the selfless, dedicated care she gave their father during the last few years of his failing health. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Aurora Visiting Nurses Association for the excellent help and compassionate care the past month.
