Leland M. "PeeWee" Christian's Obituary
Leland M. “PeeWee” Christian, age 85 of Oshkosh, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on January 28, 1930 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Raymond B. and Louise (Pipenberg) Christian. He served his country in the US Army. Leland married the former Dorothy Joan Brown on June 14, 1952. She preceded him in death in 1999. Leland had worked for and retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church and greatly enjoyed the outdoors, that of fishing, camping, gardening and time spent with his grandchildren who fondly referred to him as “great”. Leland could also be found at the coffee clutch at the Jackson St. Hardee’s restaurant. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by two sons, Steve (Irma) of Butte Des Morts, and Patrick (Kimberly) of Waunakee, WI; two daughters, Karen (Scott) Honsinger and Peggy (Shane) Raugh, both of Oshkosh; a brother, Donald of Oshkosh. He is further survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, other relatives and many dear friends. Funeral services for Leland will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, 1526 Algoma Blvd. in Oshkosh. The Rev. Jeffrey Berg will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
