LEONARD "BUCK" Jungwirth's Obituary
Leonard “Buck” Jungwirth, age 92, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday May 31, 2016 at Oakwood Manor in Oshkosh. He was born in Oshkosh, on February 13, 1924 the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Stadler. Buck married Dolores Poklasny in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on September 7, 1946. She preceded him in death on April 28, 1999. He served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army. Until the time of his retirement he was employed as a mechanic at Pluswood in Oshkosh. Buck was a member of St Vincent Catholic Church in Oshkosh.
Buck was a kind, caring and generous man. He loved his family unconditionally over the years and took very good care of them.
He was loved for his sense of humor, his phenomenal memory and his strong determination to make a good life for those who needed him. He was an avid Packer fan, having held season tickets for over fifty years, and cherished the group of buddies who went to all the games with him.
Buck is survived by one daughter-in-law; Suzanne “Susie” Jungwirth, of Oshkosh, two sisters-in-law Phyllis Jungwirth, June Poklasny, both of Oshkosh, the Pupeter-Troiber family, and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death one son; Paul Jungwirth, two daughters; Susie, Monica Jungwirth, one brother; Robert Jungwirth, two sisters; Gen Hugo, and Lucille Isham.
Funeral services for Buck will be held in the Poklasny Funeral Home (870 W. South Park) on Saturday June 4, at 11:00 AM with the Deacon Pat Gelhar officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
