Linda Mary Hollnagel's Obituary
Linda M. Hollnagel, 75, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, July 13, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on September 21, 1948 to the late Teresa and Lawrence Putzer. Linda was united in marriage on November 16, 1968 to Bernie Hollnagel.
Linda left a lasting impact and is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bernie; her daughters: Melissa (Bob) Hoodie, Michele (Ryan) Rowe; her grandchildren: Alli (James) Heroux, Logan (Adelyn) Hoodie, Tyler Hoodie, Rachel (Nate) Leitermann, Ethan Hoodie, Natalie Rowe, and Brooklyn Rowe; and her three precious great grandchildren: Silas Heroux, Lane Hoodie, and Vienna Leitermann. In addition, Linda had very close relationships with her sisters, Sally Winkler, Marge (Paul) Gumz, Jean (Dan) Fritz, and Kim (Mike) West. She also had many strong lifelong friendships including Connie Farrey, Yvonne Osborn and too many others to name.
Linda was a woman of faith who captured the hearts of everyone around her with her compassion and unwavering generosity. She most enjoyed spending time with her family by going on annual trips, hosting holiday parties, and playing games until the sun came up. The relationship she had with her family was beyond most and one they will cherish forever. She was a true example of strength, resilience, and grace.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 519 Knapp Street, Oshkosh, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the same location.
Linda expressed a deep gratitude for the care and kindness shown to her by: Dr Hurley, Meghan Boll, and the other fantastic staff at Ascension Cancer Center, and Mary Jecka, her ovarian cancer mentor and dear friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church in Linda’s honor.
