Lois J. Seidl's Obituary
Lois J. Seidl, age 88, of Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Ascension Mercy Medical Center. She was born on January 12, 1935 in Oshkosh a daughter of the late Harvey and Rose Roebke. After graduating from Oshkosh High School and meeting her future husband at the “Wigwam”, she married David L. Seidl on May 1, 1954. They were married for 64 years. Lois worked at many retail and restaurant establishments in the Oshkosh area as well as owning and running South Park Beverage Mart with her husband Dave for several years. In her younger years, Lois forever mentioned her joy of working and bar tending at her grandfather's tavern “Pawlowski's”, on 17th and Iowa Streets in Oshkosh. After retirement, Lois and Dave enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona and Florida as well as going on vacations and cruises with their children. Lois was a longtime member of St. Jude Parish, St. Vincent Catholic Church. She was an active member of the Christian Mother's Club and Choir. She enjoyed her ladies card club monthly, bingo and bus trips to the casino.
Lois is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her children, James and Connie Seidl, Julianne (Seidl) and Tim Matsche, Janet (Seidl) Mark Leichtnam, Tori Seidl. 11 grandchildren, Kelly (Seidl) and Joel Nesbit, Michael and Val Seidl, Meggin (Seidl) and Ted Jennejohn, Bridgette (Seidl) and Luke Balistrieri, Ryan Seidl, Alex and Maribel Matsche, Tony Matsche and fiance' Jan Mamedova, Abbey (Leichtnam) and Dan Schonscheck, Mallory (Leichtnam) and Chad Schultz, Emily Leichtnam and Andrew Leichtnam; 13 great-grandchildren, Kate, Grant, Claire, Violet, Vienna, Graham, Vito, Allison, Dylan, Arabella, Romeo, Grayson and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, David; a son, Jeffrey and sisters, Doris Kalbus and Joann Pommerening.
Funeral services for Lois will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 6 pm in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh with Fr. Joseph Mattern officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund will be established.
