LOIS ANN WITZKE's Obituary
On November 4, 2017, heaven welcomed the beautiful soul of Lois Ann Witzke. She was born in Oshkosh on June 9, 1932, the daughter of the late Walter and Bernadette Hannes Koch. Lois married Gerald Witzke on April 25, 1953. They had a wonderful life together with their six children. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2009. Until the time of her retirement she was employed as an administrative assistant for Winnebago County for over twenty years. Lois was a member of St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
Lois sparkled in so many ways. Her passion was God and her family. She was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and directed the St. John's Church choir for 50 years. She loved helping and caring for people and volunteered at Bethel, Evergreen and St. John's. She shared her love for all of God's creatures by providing a loving home for many pets throughout the years and supported the Oshkosh humane society.
When her grandchildren were younger, every Saturday was spent at Grandma’s house. There were fun prizes for Bingo and a delicious meal to share for the whole family.
Lois loved to dance, sing, play cards, and travel. Her bag was packed and ready to go north at a moment’s notice. A trip to the casino was an extra bonus.
Lois is survived by one son; Tim Witzke, of Oshkosh; three daughters, Wendy (Terry) Conger, Oshkosh, Connie (Keith) Rushford, Menasha, and Tammy (Darrell) Redmann, Oshkosh; one sister, Margie Nichols, Oshkosh; one son-in-law, Jim Paulsen, Oshkosh; ten grandchildren, Ben Hardel, Jessi Hardel, Josh (Kimberly) Hardel, Eric Hardel, Brandon Dallman, Lauren (Kyle) Mullen, Lindsey Rushford, Jeremy (Carey) Redmann, Nick Redmann, Kristin Redmann; three great-grandchildren; Zack Redmann, Autumn Hardel, and Hayden Hardel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter; Jerilyn Paulsen, one son; Randy Witzke, one brother; Terry Koch, one sister-in-law; Marcella Stegemann, and one brother-in-law; Edmund Nichols.
The family truly appreciates the thoughtful and loving care given by the nurses and staff at Bethel's Serenity Gardens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday November 9, at 11:30 AM in St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (Sacred Heart worship site) with Fr. Matt Simonar officiating and Fr. Augustine Serafini co-celebrant. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the hour of services.
Dearest Mom, Grandma, Sister . . . you will live in our hearts forever.
