Lola M. Thomas' Obituary
Lola M. Thomas, age 78, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. She was born on February 16, 1932 in Watersmeet, Michigan, a daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (Wasson) Dellies. Lola married Byron Thomas on June 14, 1952 in Watersmeet, he preceded her in death on March 19, 1983. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh and was also a member of and enjoyed time at the Oshkosh Senior Center. Lola greatly enjoyed and will be remembered for reading, gardening, cooking, traveling, going to the cabin "up north", and for her not so fond relationship with the neighborhood squirrel population.
Her memory will be cherished by three sons, Bruce (Terry) Thomas of Oshkosh, Todd (Lori) Thomas of Mequon, Darren and fiance Marci Michaels, both of Oshkosh; two daughters, Jean (Greg) Leiser of Oshkosh and Patty (Andy) Warfield of Beaver Dam; three sisters, Elaine (Wilbur) Sampsell of McMillan, Michigan, Arlene (Gary) Corsi of Watersmeet, Michigan and Bess Parrett of Las Vegas, Nevada; nine grandchildren, Vanessa, Kerri and Ellie Thomas; Nick, Jake and Angela Leiser; A.J., Lizzie and Megan Warfield; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Chloe and Josie Farmer and Adrian Warfield. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Beverly Talerico; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends, both here and in Michigan. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Oliver and Richard; a sister, Laura Juntii.
Funeral services for Lola will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Avenue in Oshkosh, the Reverend Fr. Thomas Reynebeau will officiate. Lola will be taken back to Michigan for burial and a burial service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Watersmeet Cemetery in Watersmeet, Michigan.
Lola will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
