Loretta Phillips' Obituary
Loretta M. Phillips, age 90, of Oshkosh, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Parkview Health Care Center. She was born on May 28, 1921 a daughter of the late Herman and Mary (Blechel) Miller. She married John Phillips on April 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1992. Loretta loved to play the piano, making braided rugs, writing to many pen pals, and tending to her garden, especially the raspberry bushes and pear tree. She enjoyed the Senior Center where she was involved in the creative writing class and the quilting room. Loretta will be missed by her sons, Michael (Patricia) Phillips, Thomas (Elaine) Phillips, Paul (Eugene) Phillips; a daughter, Marcia (Daniel) Schmidt; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jeremy (Carrie) Phillips, Steven (Danelle) Phillips of Berlin, Jennifer Phillips, Amy (Kevin) Paulick, Lori (Trent) Spiegelberg, J.B. and Jenzel Phillips; great-grandchildren, Owen, Everett, Lawson, Levi Phillips, Brant and Evan Paulick, Skye Spiegelberg. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Neil; sisters, Mary Ann Zarling and Clara Penzenstadler. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 12 noon in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh, with the Rev. Fr. William Van DeKreeke officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The family wishes to thank the staff at Parkview Health Center for the wonderful, compassionate care that Loretta recieved during the eight years that she resided there.
