Lorraine Larie's Obituary
Lorraine Marie Larie, age 86 of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, Feb. 21, 2009 in her home. She was born in Oshkosh, WI, on November 12, 1922, the daughter of Herman and Emma (Robl) Hollub. She married Francis Larie on January 30, 1943 at St. John's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. This beautiful woman, our Mom, was loving, patient and kind to her five children, and a faithful wife to her husband Francis of 66 years. Her nine grandchildren loved to be with her! She was always fun and generously share her time. Mom had many interests, but baking was number one. Reading, traveling, being with her family, her card groups and lunch gals were also her loves. We all loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. She was a faithful member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic (St. Vincent Site), the Twins Club, Amvets, many bowling leagues, Senior Singing Group, Timber Toppers Square Dancing Club and other card playing clubs.
She is survived by her husband: Francis Larie of Oshkosh; five children: Daniel Larie of Madison; Kathy (Darrell) McGill of Oshkosh, Karen (Bob) Tiddens of Denver, CO, Kris (Jeff) Driessen of Little Chute and Ken (Annette) Larie of Oshkosh. One brother: Kenneth (Earline) Hollub of Waukesha; nine grandchildren: David, Sara, Janelle, Grant, Serena, Alex, Adam, Hunter and Jorden; special friends: Grace and George; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Russell and Harold.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (St. Vincent Site) 216 W. South Park at 12-noon Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Rev. Fr, William Van De Kreeke will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m., until the hour of the Mass at 12-Noon. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Lorraine's name. Special thanks must be given to the Visiting Hospice Group who helped her through her final days at home.
