Lyle Kenneth Runke's Obituary
Lyle passed away at age 90 at Country Villa Assisted Living, Omro, Wisconsin. He was born September 14, 1929 a son of the late Adolf and Sophia (Garhaert) Runke. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lydia McGlaughin and Eleanor (Robert) Suda and a brother Lawrence Runke.
Lyle served in the US Navy for four years 1948 - 1952. Soon after his service, he married the love of his life Bev Reide. Lyle started out as an apprentice in a printing company and eventually became President and bought the company. He operated Oshkosh Printers for 17 years. He & Bev retired early in 1984. They built a home in Florida and lived there six months of every year for thirty years,they joined the Florida Boat Club and spent every chance to be on the surrounding waters. Played golf the rest of the time, and also enjoyed downhill skiing many places out west. Enjoyed the many visits from the kids and friends also. In later years Lyle especially enjoyed fishing for walleye on son Bill's boat on Lake Winnebago.
Lyle is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his wife Bev, of 68 years; two sons, William (Patti) Runke,Oshkosh, James (Joanne) Runke, Chicago and daughter, Beth (Steve) Kryzaniak, Oshkosh. Six grandchildren, Will (Kris) Runke, Watertown, Andrew (Suzie) Runke, Oshkosh, Cara (Dave)Post, Palo Alto, CA, Jamie Runke, Chicago, Cody & Sarah Kryzaniak,Oshkosh, two great grandchildren, Riley & Olivia Runke, Watertown, WI and Quinn Post, Palo Alto, CA.
Lyle was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Winneconne. A private family funeral Mass will be held. There will be no visitation. The family wishes a special thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at Country Villa.
