Sister M. Adolphina Stadlmann, age 90, died on August 6, 2018 at SSM Franciscan Courts, Oshkosh, WI.
Sister M. Adolphina, born on July 8, 1928, in Doellwang, Germany, was named and baptized as Theresia. She was the second child born to Johann and Luzia (Guttenberger) Stadlmann. She was one of twelve children: six brothers and five sisters. Sister M. Adolphina entered the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother in Abenberg, Germany, on March 19, 1948, and came to the United States on August 30, 1949. She professed first vows on August 12, 1950, in Milwaukee, WI.
Sr. M. Adolphina ministered as a Medical and Clinical Laboratory Technologist until 1996 when she retired to SSM Franciscan Courts. Sister served in St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, Wisconsin; Holy Family Hospital, Estherville, Iowa; Sacred Heart Hospital, Tomahawk, Wisconsin; and St. Michael’s Hospital, Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Sister M. Adolphina was preceded in death by her parents, her six brothers and three sisters. She has two living sisters, Elizabeth Meir, Germany, and Josephine Schmidt. Homecoming will be at 4:00 p.m. at SSM Franciscan Court on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at SSM Franciscan Courts, Oshkosh, WI with Rev. William Hower as the celebrant. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Oshkosh, WI.
