Marcia Hessenius' Obituary
Marcia Hessenius, age 75, of Oshkosh, died Thursday December 29, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Mount Carroll, IL., on July 5, 1936 the daughter of the late Lawrence and Grace Downing Getz. Marcia married Dr. Robert Hessenius on December 28, 1957. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2002. Throughout her professional carreer she was employed as a registered Nurse in Chicago, Beaver Dam, WI., and also at the familys optical practice in Oshkosh. Amoung her many loves was spending time with her family, travel, boating, Packer games, golf, and gardening. Marcia was also very fond of her extended family at River Mill in Oshkosh.
Marcia is survived by two sons; Robert Hessenius Jr., of Oshkosh, Jay (Brandi) Hessenius, Wilmington, NC., one daughter; Michelle (David) Davies, Pardeeville, WI., four grandchildren; Evan, and Austin Davies, Connor, and Cray Hessenius, one brother; LeRoy (Hazel) Getz, Mount Carroll, IL., three sisters; Marilyn Becker, Mount Carroll, IL., Florence Sisler, Elgin, IL., and Doris (Melvin) Schubert, Freeport, IL. Marcia is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Marcia will be held in the Poklasny Funeral Home (870 W. South Park) on Monday January 2, at 11:00AM with the Rev. Carl Knitt officiating. Private burial will be held in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00AM until the hour of services. Marcia's family wishes to extend a very special Thank you to Pam DeLap for all her care and support during her time of need.
