Margaret A. "Muggs" Books' Obituary
Margaret A. “Muggs” Books, age 84, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Bethel Home. She was born on June 22, 1930 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Margaret (Schussler) Berger. She married Bernard W. Books on May 24, 1952. Bernard preceded her in death on May 31, 2009. Margaret had worked at Hughes Chocolates and will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She greatly enjoyed Christmas time and trimming her tree along with attending to her garden in the summertime and time spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by and her memory will be cherished by a son, Brian Books of Oshkosh; three daughters, Linda (Russell) Nitz of Pickett, Diane (Terry) Schroeder of Oshkosh, Laurie (Glen) Pollack of Van Dyne; a brother, Rudolph (Harriett) Berger of DePere; a sister, Ann (Robert) Dehn and a sister-in-law, Sharon Berger, both of Oshkosh. She is further survived by nine grandchildren, Michele (Scott) Bierman, Jacob (Carrie) Nitz, Dominick (Suzette) Schroeder, Ethan Barthels, Ann Pollack, Noah Books, Nicholas, Katie and Melissa Books; four great-grandchildren, Cami and Chase Nitz; Kallie and Cole Bierman; other relatives and many very dear friends. She was preceded in death by brothers, William and Eugene; a sister, Katherine Andresen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Margaret on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, corner of Knapp and 6th Streets in Oshkosh. The Rev. James Jugenheimer as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held directly at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. A memorial fund will be established. The family wishes a sincere thank you to the staff at the Bethel Home for the tender care and concern that was given to both their mother and father over the years that they stayed there.
