MARGARET WERBA's Obituary
Margaret “Midge” Werba, age 72, of Oshkosh, died Saturday March 26, 2016 in Phoenix, AZ surrounded by her family. She was born in Peoria, IL., on February 13, 1944 the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Poeschl Stein. Midge married William “Bill” Werba, in St Mary’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh, on April 15, 1961. She graduated from Fox Valley Technical Institute in the fall of 1974 with a Practical Nursing degree. Midge was employed by Mercy Medical Center for over twenty years and also did private in home care, with nursing being a big part of her life. She was a member of the Oshkosh Power Boat Club, and also Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Midge is survived by her husband; Bill Werba, of Oshkosh, two sons; Charles W. (Amy) Werba, Oshkosh, Joseph M. (Bridget) Werba, Mesa, AZ., one daughter; Gretchen (Adrian) Wanek, Green Bay, eight grandchildren; Erin Noe, Austin Noe, Kayla (Kevin) Laedtke, Courtney Wanek, Virginia Werba, Margaret G. Werba, Veronica Werba, Skylar Werba, two great-grandchildren; Kira Laedtke, Kaedence Laedtke, two brothers; Tom (Mary) Stein, Oshkosh, Mark (Cyndy) Stein, Oshkosh, and one sister; Dorothy Shafiee; sisters-in-law Katy Werba and Mary Turner. Midge is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Midge was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Joe Shafiee, Dennis Turner, Adolph Werba, Stanley Hegg and sister-in-law Adele Hegg.
Midge was a caring, selfless person who always put the needs of others before herself. She will forever be remembered for her love of gardening, a good rummage sale and anything sweet. We will also remember her sense of humor and love of music, especially when a good, upbeat tune came on the radio. We're sure that your arthritis is long gone, and you're bopping to the music up in heaven with our Lord! We love you Mummsy!
Funeral services for Midge will be held in St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (Sacred Heart Site) on Saturday April 9, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Matt Simonar officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday April 9, from 9:00 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a Nursing Scholarship in her name will be established at Fox Valley Technical College.
