Marianne Kettelhut's Obituary
Marianne Kettelhut passed away peacefully on August 31st 2025. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 13, 1929 to Rudolph and Anna Smira. She married Donald Butcher of Stevensville, Michigan on 1950. After his passing from menengitis she raised her newborn daughter, worked for Whirlpool and area banks, and volunteered at a resale shop. She married Karl Kettelhut in 1965 and retired as a fruit farmer. She enjoyed collecting dolls and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Marianne moved to Oshkosh, WI to be near her daughter, and was a member of Living Water Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, and she truly enjoyed her visits with Pastor Dorn.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Butcher and her husband Charles Putzer and grandchildren Anna Bechner (Putzer),Thomas, Joseph and Mark Putzer, and great-grandchildren Lofton Putzer and Ethan Bechner. She is also survived by step-daughters, Cassie, Mary Lou and Peggy Kettelhut, and step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marianne is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Smira, husbands Donald Butcher and Karl Kettelhut, step-son Donald Kettelhut and step-daughter Beverly Kettelhut.
A special thank you to nurses and aides, especially Cam, who often made her smile, at The Residence in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Marianne donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org, and the American Cancer Society in memory of her mother. Please consider donations in her name. Marianne will be laid to rest in the Lincoln Charter Township Cemetery in Stevensville, Michigan.
