Marie Y. Chapin's Obituary
Marie Y. Chapin, age 89 of Oshkosh, WI, formerly of Harvey, IL died on July 11, 2019 in Oshkosh surrounded by family. She was born September 25, 1929 in Phoenix, IL, the daughter of Felix & Jean (nee Novakowski) Wojtowicz. Marie was survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Robert) Podgorski of Oshkosh, WI, Janice Chapin (Ann Robbins) of Evanston, IL and son, Brian Chapin (Paul Boomsma) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Podgorski of Wrightstown, WI and Jessica (Michael) Eckert of Brown Deer, WI; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Caleb and Lauren Podgorski, and Levi, Oliver, and Adler Marie Eckert. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Eugene (Sonny) Wojtowicz, as well as many aunts and uncles, to whom she was very close.
Marie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative and friend. She enjoyed meeting and talking with people. She loved spending time with family and traveling. Her favorite destinations were Florida, California, and Hawaii.
In her last years she was well cared for by the Staff at Park View Health Center, Dr. Edward Lake, and DaVita Dialysis in Oshkosh.
Memorial services will be held at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S. Westhaven Dr) on Saturday, August 3,2019. Family and friends may call at the Funeral home from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkview Health Center Resident Activity Fund in memory of Marie Chapin (725 Butler Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54901) or Miniature Schnauzer & Friends Rescue (www.msfr.org), Redondo Beach, CA, in memory of Marie Chapin.
Marie will be sorely missed by all those that loved and knew her.
