Marie Hattie Nikolaus' Obituary
Marie Hattie Nikolaus, born April 7, 1920 in Princeton, WI, died on January 31, 2017 in Oshkosh, WI. Marie left school to keep house and care for her siblings in Brandon after eighth grade, this prepared her to be an excellent housekeeper and care giving mother to her children in the family home on 11th Ave. in Oshkosh. She and Jacob hosted numerous gatherings with extended family and friends at Christmas, the Fourth of July and other holidays. She is survived by her sons, David (Patricia), Dennis (Joyce), Gerald (Susan & Rita), Kevin (Lori Mari & Janett and her daughter Jacquelynn. Marie is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Jill Marie McCauley, Craig Nikolaus, Karla Jo Schweda, Kelly Rae Brady, Anastasia Foss, Aaron Nikolaus, Joseph Nikolaus, Emily Nikolaus, Brenton Nikolaus, Devon Clappe and Taylor Sporleder and 10 great-grandchildren; Ryan, Tessa KAte, Carolyn Marie, Zoey Katherine, Ethan, Leah, Mae, Daphne, Juther and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Bartow, her mother, Justyna Witucke Bartow and her loving husband Jacob Paul Nikolaus. She was also preceded by brothers, Edward, Robert, John and Arthur.
Funeral services for Marie will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W, South Park Ave. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
