Marion Erna Piper's Obituary
Marion E. Piper, 89, Oshkosh, passed away on February 19, 2023, at her granddaughter’s home in Menomonee Falls, WI. Marion was born to Hubert and Minnie Neitzke on August 25, 1933, in Rush Lake, Wisconsin. On August 9, 1952, Marion married the love of her life, Cecil J. Piper, at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Berlin, Wisconsin. Marion worked at Miles Kimbell for 30 years. After Marion retired, she would continue to work at Miles Kimbell during the Holiday rush for another six years.
For Marion, family always came first above all else. Marion worked hard her entire life to provide for her family. Marion enjoyed traveling with Cecil throughout the United States. If there were Polka Festivals along the way, that would be their favorite trip. Marion enjoyed cooking; baking was her favorite, especially if she hosted a party. Marion’s greatest passion was dancing with her husband throughout the years. Her favorite dance was a polka with Cecil leading the way.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Janice (Doug) Zellmer, and Son, Dennis (Penny) Piper. Grandchildren Jennifer Piper, Erik (Katie) Zellmer, Paul (Joann) Piper, Kerri Piper, Mike Piper. Great Grandchildren Zachary and Caroline Zellmer, Katrina (Kyle) Rogers, Jaida and Kaiden Piper. Sister-in-Law Mary Ellen Neitzke. As well as many nieces and nephews, a special niece Sandy “Toots” Londowski, and many friends.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil. By her parents, sisters, and brothers. Irma (John) Spanbauer, Leona (Charlie) Bodmer, Vilice (Tony) Sosnoski, Goldie (Norbert) Dibelius, Melvin (Mryt) Neitzke, Elda (Harold) Bertschy, David (Margie) Neitzke, Doris (Elmer) Tetzlaff, Ardis (Leo) Beyer, Frank Neitzke, Robert Neitzke. Brother-in-Law Arden Piper and Sister-in-Law Dorothy Herbst.
Visitation will be held before the memorial service on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 10am-noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 338 N. Eagle St Oshkosh, Wi 54902. The memorial service will be held at noon after the visitation at Immanuel. A private burial service at Nepuskun Cemetery will be held later this year.
In place of flowers, a memorial donation will be made in Marion’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
