Marjorie Goggins' Obituary
Marjorie “Marge” E. Goggins, age 91, of Oshkosh passed away on Monday morning October 13, 2014 at her residence. Marge was born on December 10, 1922 on a farm near Winneconne to the late Paul and Kathryn (Abell) Krings. She was a 1940 graduate of Winneconne High School. On May 23, 1942 she married Robert Goggins at St. Mary’s Church in Winneconne. Robert preceded her in death on March 20, 1968. During the 1970’s and 80’s she was employed in the food service department at Pleasant Acres which is now Park View Health Center. During retirement she delivered Meals on Wheels for twenty years which she enjoyed doing, and played scrabble weekly at the Senior Center for many years. Survived by one daughter; Jeanne (William) Flanagan of Appleton, three sons; Dan (Barbara) Goggins of Andover, MN, Jim (Jean) Goggins of Oshkosh and David Goggins of Anchorage, AK. Nine grandchildren; Patrick (Brenda) and Brian (Jauna) Flanagan, Meghan (Jesse) Borman, Rob (Katie) and David (Lindsay) Goggins, Jill (Joe) Schumacher and Amy (Eric Houle) Goggins, Erin and Curt Goggins. Also ten great grandchildren and one arriving in December and two step great grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews. Four sisters-in-law; Shirley Krings, Rosemary Martin, Lucile Kucharczk and Jean Krings. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Five brothers; Kenneth, Alvin, Leo, Gerald and John Krings. Four sisters; Alice Gavin, Ruth Herbst, Helen and Virginia Krings. sister-in-law; Frances Markert and brother-in-law; Jerry Goggins. Niece, Kathryn Henseler and nephew, Kirk Martin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday October 16, 2014 at 10:30am at St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church on the corner of South Park & Oregon). Father William Van De Kreeke will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of Mass. Committal services will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to the Salvation Army at 417 Algoma Blvd. Oshkosh, WI 54901.
