Marjorie Y. Kalous' Obituary
Marjorie Y. Kalous, age 97, of Oshkosh, passed away early Tuesday morning May 27, 2025 with her family at her side. Marjorie was born on July 27, 1927 in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Edna Yancy. She married Edwin Kalous on April 30, 1949. She and Ed were very involved with St. Peter’s church. Marjorie was the director of Religious Education for many years. She was also active in the Aquinas Club. She enjoyed journaling, reading, and spending time with family.
She is survived by and her memory will be cherished by three daughters, Susan (David) Tews of Hancock, Wi, Mary (Tim) Nelson of Green Bay, and Linda Stein of Oshkosh. She is survived by 6 grandchildren, Jezra Hazelwood, Holly (Jamie) Krueger, Kelli (Mike) Mincheski, Adam (Becky) Tews, Charlie (Katie) Nelson and Samantha (Dan Shirley) Nelson. Eleven great grandchildren, Allie, Charlotte, Lucy, Rylee, Lainey, Jacob, Joseph, Justin, Seda, Aurora, Aurelia and one very special Great Great Grandson Evan. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends John Lemberger and MaryBeth Petesch.
She was preceded by her husband Edwin, her son-in-law Neal Stein, her sisters Mae (Gilbert) Kaufman, and Geneva Pollnow.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to The Courtyard at Oshkosh Assisted Living and Preceptor Hospice for their exceptional care of mom.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 4, 2025 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (435 High Avenue in Oshkosh) with Father Jerome Pastors officiating.
A time of visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday June 4 from 10:00 AM till the time of Mass. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice in Marjorie’s name.
